At Mythril Peaks, we passionately believe in adhering to principles that promote sustainable self-development.
The Mythril Peaks coaching philosophy is built on a powerful principle: balance is key. We will help you find the perfect mix of intensity and recovery, guiding you to focus on the right training paces and effort levels for your body. To us, rest days and recovery are not a luxury, but are instead a critical part of the process—equally as important as your toughest workouts, if not more so.
What matters most is the progression of your individual journey in a way that integrates well with the rest of your life. Whether you want to finish a local 5K for the first time, or aspire to become the type of athlete capable of qualifying for the Olympic Trials, Mythril Peaks is eager to help you sustainably achieve your unique individual potential in the sport.
head coach hunter davila
Hunter Davila is the heart of the Mythril Peaks Distance Project. With 16 years of competitive running experience, he is deeply passionate about sharing the knowledge he gained from his journey.
A Casper, Wyoming native, Hunter was a dominant force in Wyoming high school running. He was a 13-time state champion between indoor and outdoor track and field, holding the all-class indoor (9:30.77) and outdoor (9:21.64) state records in the 3200m run from 2014 to 2015. His talent earned him recruitment offers from top collegiate programs, including NCAA D1 powerhouses like Georgetown and Colorado. Hunter ultimately chose a full scholarship to The University of Arizona, where he competed year-round while earning a Master of Legal Studies degree in just four years.
Hunter's path wasn't without its challenges. After experiencing periods of severe burnout in both high school and college, he took time away from the sport to rebuild his relationship with running. This personal journey of recovery and renewal led to a new philosophy: one that prioritizes sustainability, balance, and self-development.
Now, Hunter has returned to competition with a renewed focus, and these core principles are the foundation of his coaching. He is committed to helping you not only reach your athletic goals but also redefine your relationship with running in a way that is healthy, enduring, and deeply rewarding.
